Wild Salmon fishing on the Drammen River
Salmon fishing on the Drammen River is first mentioned in a historical context back in the 12th century. The excellent fishing has since been described in a number of documents over the last 700-800 years. The Drammen River is best known for commercial fishing, with big catches being landed using nets in the river and fixed traps at the Hellefossen falls. The Drammen River is now one of the best salmon rivers in Norway and the fishing is controlled jointly by landowners and the angling club.
